#1 Check Mate (The Tom Slatin Challenge)

In my last blog I decided to challenge myself and create 50 blog posts based on Tom Slatin's 50 Journal Writing Prompts. Apparently there's one with 80 prompts too but I've decided to try out the one with less to see if I'll be able to commit.

Anyway, this will be my first post based on his list. To see the list check out Tom's website. I was incredibly pleased when, just a few moments ago, I checked my twitter account to see if anyone had tagged me in any of their posts and, much to my surprise, Tom Slatin (or at least I hope it was him) himself tweeted me and wished me luck! Wow!

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I've decided to choose random entries from the 50 prompts on his website. Which means I won't be doing them in chronological order.

15. What is your favorite chess piece?

Now a lot of you may think it strange that I chose this particular question from all the fifty that were provided but all I have to say is that it called to me. No other explanations! Hahaha!

Everyone knows of king Arthur and his knights of the roundtable. Go look it up if you're unfamiliar! The stories will definitely hook you in. No joke or exaggeration. Now, back to the topic. King Arthur's knights were the epitome of chivalry, bravery, faith, and to add to all that they certainly knew how to treat a woman! One virtue, in my opinion, which lacks in most menor boys today, I'm very sorry to say. These knights were every woman's fantasy come to life. Who wouldn't want their very in own knight in shining armor? I certainly would.

All of that, coupled with the fact that I love to watch t.v. shows with jousting, sword fighting, and handsome knights that leave you drooling after even just a few minutes into the show, is the reason why my favorite chess piece is, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, THE KNIGHT! As if you all didn't guess that by looking at the mouth watering picture of Bradley James at the beginning of this blog post. So there you have it, my favorite chess piece. There isn't any deep and highly philosophical reason behind it. Don't forget the fact that most knights have that sexy accent we women simply LOVE!

I didn't expect this post to too long since the question was pretty simple and straight to the point. And as I said, there aren't any deep, dark reasons behind my answer.

Anyway, this is me babbling now. If you guys aren't aware, Bradley James plays prince Arthur in the BBC series Merlin. Check it out! Before I end this rambling blog post I'll leave you with a few more photos of my favorite knights. ENJOY!
